Legal situation

Switzerland has liberalised medical cannabis

Since October 2022, it has been possible in Switzerland for any doctor to prescribe medical cannabis with a high THC content without a special authorisation from the FOPH. This change in the law gives many patients in need of treatment legal and safe access to cannabis-based medicine.

“Doctors can now prescribe cannabis-based medicines on a narcotics prescription, without a special authorisation.”
